Telelift history

Telelift GmbH has a 60-year-long history of success to look back on. Erich Wesener founded Telelift GmbH in January 1964. The first order for the Kreditanstalt Zuerich laid the foundation for success. This was followed by large-scale contracts for the Bundesabgeordnetenhaus (Federal House of Representatives) in Bonn and Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt. The company’s rapid growth necessitated relocation to new premises. The company already moved its headquarters to Puchheim (near Munich) in 1973. Telelift GmbH was acquired by the Thyssen Group in 1989. The Thyssen corporation’s distribution network enabled Telelift GmbH to expand its markets – and enter into new ones. Telelift’s rail-bound conveyor system received the new product name UniCar. But Telelift remained synonymous for this type of material handling system.
In 1999, Telelift was purchased by Swisslog AG. Telelift conducted business in this environment under the company name Swisslog Telelift GmbH for 12 years. In June 2012, the company returned to its traditional name Telelift GmbH and Telelift GmbH was acquired by an international group of investors. The same year, the company moved into new corporate premises in Maisach, which is west of Munich.
