Telelift in the Busan Metropolitan Library
With around 3.5 million inhabitants, Busan is the second largest city in South Korea after Seoul. It is located on the south-eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula. It is considered to be one of the leading industrial cities in the country.
As part of a government program to promote libraries in South Korea, the Busan Metropolitan Library was planned as the new central city library of Busan.
The Busan Metropolitan Library impresses with its impressive architecture. A glass facade takes up the entire front of the four-story building and ensures that the central hall and some other areas of the library are flooded with sunlight. This creates an atmosphere of cosiness in the library that invites visitors to linger.
In the new building, an integrated library solution from Telelift with book return, sorting and transport was implemented. From two 24/7 external book returns, 21 UniSortCars transport the single media to five sorting destinations on four floors. In addition, seven UniSafeCars ensure individual transport between three open-access areas, the archive and the sorting room.
The newly established Telelift Korea Co., Ltd. ensures local service and support for the Busan Metropolitan Library and all other customers in Korea.
The Busan Metropolitan Library is thus ideally equipped for all logistical requirements of this modern library.
