The German National Library with its locations in Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main is the central archival library and the national bibliographic center of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The German National Library in Leipzig is an archive library. All media are made available for use in the reading rooms. A reading room landscape with optimal working and study conditions is available to users for this purpose.

In the year 2010, an automated book transport system was assembled in the German National Library in Leipzig in order to optimize the delivery processes. In 2019 the system was expanded. Since then it has been running continuously, is in very good condition and should continue to be used in the long term.
