The Great Mosque in the Bay of Algiers is the third largest mosque in the world. Its 265-meter minaret is the tallest in the world. The division of the mosque into five segments refers to the five pillars of Islam.

The mosque is intended to unite various cultural and religious influences of Islam in Algeria. In addition to being a religious meeting place, it is also a social gathering place.

In addition to numerous cultural facilities, the building also houses the Library of the University of Islamic Studies.

A Telelift system has been delivered to the library, connecting five floors on 280 meters of track. 32 Telelift trolleys ensure efficient transportation at 14 stations.
