Telelift logistics solutions at IFLA

Telelift shows logistics solutions for libraries at IFLA

From August 21-25, 2023, Telelift will present logistics solutions for automation in libraries during the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Congress in Rotterdam. Booth H8 will feature solutions for returning, sorting and transporting media, as well as the fully automated storage system for larger public and academic libraries.

The automated book return and sorting systems as well as the rail-bound transport support self-service concepts of modern libraries and enable 24-hour operation. Capacity and performance of Telelift's integrated library solution is tailored exactly to the requirements of each library.

The automatic book return accepts the medium, the booking into the library system is confirmed on the touch screen, and the system automatically updates the user account. According to the predefined criteria in the Library Management System (LMS), the medium is sorted specifically to a book cart or transported directly to a UniSortCar™ for further transport. This self-propelled container then transports the publication to its final location in the reference area or stacks without the need for further reloading - across floors and even parts of buildings.

The modular AutoStore system also ensures optimal space utilization in the library with automatic storage and retrieval. The library's storage capacity can be expanded by up to four times - without requiring additional space.

In addition, the book return machine and sorting system can be spatially decoupled and adapted to the available space. Solutions for transporting particularly sensitive media are also available.
